Special Edition - Making Democracy Work for All Ghanaians in the Fourth Republic

Ghana has made considerable progress in fostering responsive governance in the context of multi-party democracy in its fourth attempt (4th Republic), which began in 1992. Notwithstanding this progress, significant gaps in inclusion remain. These gaps are rooted in the prevailing constitutional and legal order and the politics it has spawned, in the structure of our political economy, and in the realities of our political culture. Thus, these structural and cultural bottlenecks must be addressed in order to have a realistic chance of bridging the inclusive governance gap.
