Monitoring Compliance of Service Providers with the Provisions of the Disability Act
15 September, 2015
People living with disability in Ghana are faced with significant social and physical barriers. They are denied access to public and private offices, transport and recreational facilities although the policy environment in the country is improving. This report assesses the level of compliance in both public and private facilities
to provisions set out in the Persons with Disability Act 2006 through accessibility audit tours organized by the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) in collaboration with the Ghana Federation for the Disabled (GFD) and the Parliamentary Select Committee on State Enterprise,
SocialWelfare and Employment.
