Book Launch – Notes from the Public Square by Dr. John Osae-Kwapong

Book Launch (1)

The second president of Ghana’s 4th Republic, John Agyekum Kufuor, was in office from January 7, 2001 to January 7, 2009. His government implemented several policies and programs in attempts to address important public problems when he took office. The overarching question of this book is simple— given all the efforts of his government, what did Ghanaians think, feel, and say during his presidency? And to what extent did those sentiments change—positively or negatively—throughout his term in office?

Drawing on public opinion data from the Afrobarometer Survey, and focusing on critical themes – country’s economic conditions, individual living conditions, experiences with deprivation of basic life necessities, government’s handling of key public problems, evaluation of the president, attitudes towards democracy and the overall governance environment – this book provides answers to these questions.
Join us on January 20, 2022 for the virtual launch of “Notes from the Public Square” authored by CDD-Ghana’s D&D Fellow, Dr. John Osae-Kwapong.
