On Tuesday, February 28, the Director of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement unit of the US Embassy-Ghana, Ms Chris Carlisle handed over donated laptops, cameras and video projectors to selected media outlets, journalist support organizations and the National Media Commission.
The donation, made through the Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law enforcement advances the US Government’s support for Rule of Law and accountable governance in Ghana.
The equipment is to be used by the organizations for journalist training, fact-based reporting, investigative journalism and appropriate oversight of media outlets in Ghana respectively.
The recipient organizations were as follows:
Corruption Watch (CDD-Ghana)
The Fourth Estate (MFWA)
National Media Commission
The Daily Graphic
Ghanaian Times Newspaper
Ghana News Agency
Ghana Broadcasting Corporation
