Key Activities

Desk research to review and scope all mining districts to obtain data for the selection of 8 districts. The project will interrogate data on the export of gold from Precious Minerals Marketing Companies to examine their social accountability.
Buy-in meetings with national stakeholders in the mining sector for the implementation of the project.
Development of an inclusive, participatory, and development-oriented MDD scorecard report that draws on administrative data and information sharing among stakeholders.
Mobilizing and training of social accountability demanding groups and media to monitor how mineral receipts are utilized
Government-citizen-community fora to foster responsive, transparent, and accountable governance in the mineral sector
The Project will include social groups in the data collection and disseminate findings, hold discussions with stakeholders in government and related bodies and encourage adoption of recommendations.
Commission a documentary to track the accountability of royalties and rents received by traditional authorities.
