This baseline study critically examines the shifting geopolitical landscape in West Africa and its implications for democratic consolidation and regional stability. In an era of intensified global competition, this research explores the strategic interests of key foreign actors, their models of engagement, and the resulting governance and security challenges. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study integrates qualitative research, document analysis, statistical data interpretation, and expert interviews to provide an empirically grounded assessment of foreign influence in the region.
