The Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), in collaboration with the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG), is facilitating social accountability engagements between local government officials and citizens.
The engagements dubbed the ‘Citizens Speak Series’ under the theme: “Strengthening Social Accountability Systems for Improved Service Delivery” is taking place from Tuesday, March 22 through to Tuesday, April 5, 2022, in 20 districts across all 16 regions of Ghana.
The Citizens Speak Series seeks to:
1. Revive citizens’ interest in their local affairs and community development;
2. Increase citizens’ understanding of the work of the MMDAs, and the avenues available for their participation;
3. Highlight MMDAs obligations to supply accountability and to ensure accountable, transparent, and responsive governance;
4. Deepen the structures for citizens – MMDAs interface engagements.
