Between February and March 2025, the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) held 14 town hall meetings across 12 out of the 16 regions of the country to gather citizens’ expectations of the new National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, led by President John Mahama.

The meetings included four (4) special forums focused on youth, women, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and the elderly. A total of 1,331 citizens and stakeholders participated. These included traditional leaders, religious groups, political party representatives, civil
society organizations (CSOs), academics, youth, women, and disability groups.

The town halls offered a platform for participants to share their expectations of the government sworn in on January 7, 2025, and highlight priority issues needed to be addressed for national development. These forums aimed to promote civic engagement and accountability, as well as identify pressing concerns that require government attention. Click here to read the full report.
